For the last year Pretty Long Feet has been blogging about where to find shoes in larger sizes.  It’s always exciting to share with you the places, websites and interesting shops to find shoes for our long feet.

Today we’re excited to announce that Pretty Long Feet will have shoes available in larger sizes.  That’s right.  As of today,  went live.  We’re ready to start bringing you some hip stylish footwear for ladies like us.

Now of course, we are a new start-up company and our stock is currently limited.  With your help in growing this community we can plan to grow our product assortment and expand to meet your needs.

One of the things our company is passionate about is bettering the lives of women and girls.  When girls around the world are given opportunities it prepares them to be successful women and positive contributors to our society.  Often girls in some parts of the world are not given the same level of equal opportunity as boys.  That’s why we support an organization like Because I am a Girl.  Their global mission states that to change the world you start with a girl.  We share those sentiments.  Girls and women have a significant impact on the world and it’s important that they are recognized with the help of organizations like Because I am a Girl.

We welcome all your feedback and suggestions because at the end of the day we are here to serve you.  We at Pretty Long Feet want to help you feel great when you step out in style.

Loving My New Blondo Boots

I recently purchased a pair of Blondo boots from Long Tall Sally and I’m so happy with them. I’m wearing them almost daily! The leather front and the elastic backside make for a very comfortable fit. These boots look great with my jeans and I can also wear underneath my slacks. Being in Canada, a really cool fact for me is that the shoes are made here! I get lots of compliments on these boots and I am delighted to share them with you. -Isabel

Cute Ankle Bootie: Size 15!

Bradford by Barefoot Tess

This interesting little bootie by Barefoot Tess is available up to ladies size 15! Amazing.  For those ladies having a hard time finding styles larger than a size 12 this is your lucky day!  I found this style on the website.  They deliver to most countries around the world.

Studs, Studs, Studs

If you’ve been shopping lately, you’ll notice that one of the big trends in footwear is studs.  That punk rocker, biker chic, 80’s detailing of studs has made its way into handbags and belts over the last few seasons.  This summer they were seen on sandals and pumps and now for fall they are here in an even bigger way.

Designers like Sam Edelman, Christian Louboutin and Balmain carried styles in their spring 2011 collection and continued the trend into the fall season.  From the high to low price points you are sure to find something with a stud this season.

When selecting a style be sure to think about your personality.  Some studs are more dramatic with a spiked look as in the Sam Edelman Lorissa pump.  This shoe is a statement all on its own.  No need to be over the top with your outfit.  Keep what you wear simple when you wear shoes like these.  You want the attention at your feet.

Not all footwear brands will sell the larger sizes but there are some who do have a selection.  Sam Edelman carries some styles up to size 12 and lower priced labels like Payless Shoe Source have understated items up to size 12 including the Christian Siriano for Payless collection; the studs are smaller and not as dramatic.  Nine West and Stuart Weiztman carry a ballerina flat with light studding up to a size 12 too.

If you still are left not finding your size and want to jump on board with the trend here’s what you can do to create your own pair of studded shoes.

Go shopping at a craft store like Michael’s; located across Canada and the United States.  Find bags of studs or gems you’d like to put on your shoes and purchase craft glue.  Once you find a pair of shoes you love clean the surface then carefully glue the studs on.  Make sure you wait for the glue to dry completely before you wear them.   These will be your own creation and no-one else will have them.

Let me know if you give it a try.  I’d love to see your shoes.  Maybe I’ll give it a shot too.

Big Feet

Have you ever looked down at your feet and thought  you wish they were smaller and cute?  Sometimes when I visit my friends and take my shoes off at the front door, I can’t help but look at my large shoes beside several petite looking styles.  Sitting beside their shoes I look like I have the foot of a Sasquatch.

Have you ever felt like this?  I usually try to ignore it but, but recently I was shopping with my cousin’s children when his daughter loudly said, “How come your shoes don’t look so big when you’re wearing them? When they are sitting in the closet they look so huge.”  I just thought, “Aah, the pure honesty of children.”
