This is by far one of my favourite pairs of boots this season.  It’s an ankle boot lined with faux fur with a fold-over collar.  The sole is non-slim so hopefully despite the 3 1/2 inch heel height you can stay upright on slippery surfaces.

This is not a winter boot but rather what one could say is a weather boot.  It’s designed to help keep your feet dry and a little warm but there is no guarantee these will keep you protected on a day where the temperatures dip way below freezing.

Wear these if you want to look good, keep warm and dry and only on days when you’re really not doing too much walking in the snow!  At this time of season you can find it on sale in most stores and websites.  It’s also available up to size 12.

Teva Jade Cove Boot $170USD

The Teva Jade boot comes up to size 12 ladies and is waterproof leather.  It also has a microfiber lining to keep your feet warm and comfy on those cold days.

The Janey by North Face only goes up to ladies size 11 but it’s a cute style that will certainly keep you warm over the winter.  Made with a faux fur lining it also has a winter grip sole made to keep you from any mishaps on the ice over the season.

A little more sporty with a fashionable touch, the Sorel 88 boot will guarantee you warmth.  Sorel is known for creating quality winter footwear to keep you dry and warm in sub-zero temperatures.  This boot is the same style designed for the Canadian Olympic team.   Available up to size 12 and in other colours too.

Overall when it comes to staying warm and dry there is a small sacrifice to fashion.  All those funky heels, wedges and pumps look fabulous but, are usually not going to do the best job and keeping the snow and water out while keeping you warm at the same time.

Ugh.  Maybe I can find a shoe repairman to take care of them.  I really like these shoes.  If I were back home, I know I could easily just get another pair at a specific store but, that’s not the case now.

If you’re in America this weekend, you are definitely going to find some amazing bargains on just about everything including SHOES!  Check out all the ‘Black Friday’ sales that will be happening tomorrow both in store and online.  I have been over-ridden with a flood of emails from various companies and websites about special deals for the Thanksgiving weekend.  Zappos.com, Shoes.com, Nordstrom and even Payless.com all have some great deals happening.  The good thing is these retailers all carry shoes over size 11.

Travelling Luggage. Be careful many suitcases can weigh up to 15lbs (7kg) with nothing in them. Especially the models with hardware details.

Travelling light is not one of my strong character traits.  I like to bring so much when I travel.  Having pretty long feet can present its challenges.  I recently embarked on a long trip that required me to pack plenty of my things.  I will be away for a few months and when I arrived at the airport, I discovered my bags were overweight!

Now the dash was on to figure out what to remove in order to stay under the restricted 50lb (22kg) weight limit.  Books are the first to go.  I still was overweight.  What is next hmm….

My mom and friend said, take out some shoes!

I was like WHAT!  With my size 12 feet, there is no way I am going without the footwear I need.  I can find clothes and other items as needed on the trip but, shoes! That is usually the biggest challenge.  I did take out my running shoes.  I could always get a mens pair if I have to.  I removed other items including my excercise mat.  I really wanted that so I could do my morning sit-ups.  I guess I could find one or use a towel right.

Thank goodness I did not remove my shoes.

This interesting little bootie by Barefoot Tess is available up to ladies size 15! Amazing.  For those ladies having a hard time finding styles larger than a size 12 this is your lucky day!  I found this style on the shoes.com website.  They deliver to most countries around the world.

Anna Sui for Hush Puppies

Designer Anna Sui has created a collection of shoes for Hush Puppies.  The great thing is the styles are available up to size 12.  But there is a limited supply so you’ll need to act quickly if you want a pair.

The styles reflect her usual retro inspired style.   With rich colors, texture and feminine touches, they are sure to be great accent pieces to your fall wardrobe.

Well, if you’re a woman with size 9 -13 feet, there is a store that sells rain boots in wide widths.  Avenue is actually a plus clothing store but they also sell an assortment of stylish footwear up to size 13.  They carry wide widths in almost all styles.

The new rain boots in stock are made in wide widths and shaft is also wider to accommodate fuller calves.  The Moxie style is available in gray and brown leopard.  The Raina comes in black, gray and fuchsia.
